Ultimate Europe was founded in 2003 and develops, services and sells automatic door systems, gangways and interior equipment for rail vehicles. To find these three product areas combined in one company is unique in the industry. The international company has four branches in Austria, Poland, Romania and Turkey with a total of 330 employees, 150 of whom are employed in Austria.

This is the result of a study conducted by Anna Kleissner on behalf of the Austrian Lightweight Platform and the industry division of the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. Um den Klimawandel und seine Auswirkungen auf unseren Planeten zu stoppen, ist es unabdingbar, den CO₂-Fußabdruck von Produkten zu reduzieren. Naturfaserverstärkte Verbundwerkstoffe (NFC) und tragende Holzwerkstoffe sind dabei eine Basis für hochleistungsfähige, umweltfreundliche Leichtbauwerkstoffe. Auch das Recycling dieser Werkstoffe wird in Österreich vorangetrieben.

Mit einer großen österreichischen Abordnung hat die Leichtbauplattform A2LT Anfang Juni die 3. Konferenz des European Lightweighting Network (ELN) in Stockholm besucht. Die Teilnehmer aus 10 europäischen Ländern und aus verschiedenen Sparten wie öffentlicher Sektor, Industrie, Forschung und Netzwerken diskutierten unter anderem über Leichtbau-Anwendungen in verschiedenen Bereichen wie Mobilität, Energiewende und Bauwirtschaft. Peter Glaser von FACC war Vortragender zum Thema Mobilität. Auch Alexander Pogany (BMK) war mehrmals als Redner am Podium.
